I have the parts books for MK1/early Mk2 (2000 and 2.5PI), 1974 Mk2 (2000, 2500TC and 2.5PI) and 1975 (2000TC, 2500TC and 2500S). In the latter the auto box is listed as BW35 or BW65 saying the change-over was at 1 (in a circle). At the bottom of the page the 1 in a circle should state the commission number of the change - but it is blank! So, they knew BW35 was used early on but never got around to stating when the change was. Really useful!

Cheers,
Mike.

Oh my days how comes this is so up in the air and so uncut and undried!!!! So yesterday (Sat ) my guy calls me out to fit the new tyres to the new rims ( progress, again, and they have so much changed the look of the car)Well happy- until we had another chat re the 'box (or lack of top end as it would seem). He is still on the route of bring it back out in a week or two - replace the water pump, tune the carbs, drain the 'box oil, set the kickdown at the sump etc etc....got everything? Yep, got 8 liters of atf, 2 sump gaskets( just in case) , waterpump, 2 gaskets (just in case),new bolts....gearbox filter he says ? For some reason, i did not think the 35 had a filter so to speak, just a pick up pipe, afaik engine oil pump. Had a quick look on CW site earlier - :?: He lists a 518017 strainer mk 1 BW35 valve block....also an AAU7085 Filter Pick Up mk 2.. then a N1102510 Gasket Filter To Valve Block......
I fear Chris getting yet another call from me, as in does my 35 require a filter, being a 35 is that classed as a Mk 1 ,or as it is an early 'S', is it then classed as a Mk 2 ?? Coupled with you thinking all the later 'S' models should be a 65 .... can i be excused from being confused ?

Confused, Nige!
