Re: Project Pi
Small update in between the festivities managed to install the head liner and front and rear glass just the quarters to do.
Re: Project Pi
Excellent progress / work as usual Ross!
Just out of interest, where did you source the front / rear screen rubbers from, and what was your impression of their quality and fit?
I have some nos genuine front rubbers and some from COH Baines, but its the rear screen non insert rubber that I don't have (for pre 74 saloons) that I am more interested in.

Re: Project Pi
Hello John the screen seals where patterns from Chris Witor. The front screen Ive fitted 2 now and they are are a good fit. This was a first rear pattern Ive bought and the seal when initially fitted it to the glass it was not as snug. Also the seal was quite supple compared to the front screen. When installed the outside is as good as an original, however the inside has slightly ruffled around the corners which I'm happy to live with, it may contract over time. Cant really say if this was because it was loose fit or a little to supple when drawing the cord through or a combination of both. Next on the to do list. door rubbers, pillar vinyls and badges chrome round the rear window and then the rear suspension I think.
Re: Project Pi
Thanks for that Ross. It confirms my own thoughts - Chris Witor's supplier for the front screen rubber is Baines and they are of good quality (I bought several direct from them a few years ago). The rear screen rubbers from CW are not as good - I saw one in Bert Boovis (not sure if spelt right!) Damson Dutch PI at the the Lincoln National and I wasn't impressed with the quality - the firmness of the rubber wasnt there which caused it to lift at the corners - a bit like naff aftermarket door seal rubbers.
A bit of a problem really finding a good screen rubber supplier. I have one nos genuine rear prefacelift rubber but when that is used, what then?

Re: Project Pi
Jobs at the weekend rear quarters finished. The vinyl panels have been off the car so long we went to put them back on and they have shrunk. So new ones made and a good match on the grain.

Re: Project Pi
Jobs completed over the weekend rear suspension in situ and the front grille and lights installed.
Probably obvious but a bit of 8x2 timber helps steady the installation.
A bit of Chris Witor upgrade stainless bling bolted on.

Re: Project Pi
Dad your going to get cold feet if don’t wear your shoes!
A follow up on the headliner I’ve used this product on my Valencia Project with good results. The pillar trims are a bit yellow stained.
http://www.nueraproducts.co.uk/
As per instructions, clean, apply white and once completely dry use the top coat, I chose Matt.
The micro fibre cloth really gets into the grain
After 2 coats going for a third I think.
Looks a little shiny but after the top coat Matt goes on that disappears. Taking time to dry a bit cold so to be continued!
