Hi all
On my mk1 saloon the outside indicators work fine but the interior cluster above the speedo with the main beam in the middle is not working all the bulbs are good any ideas , as picked up at the Mot today cheers Pete

It is something to do with the indicator box which on the Mk1 is located under the dash on the drivers side on the inner wing panel I think.

Try adding a temporary bridging lead from the lamp body to a good earth.

Hello Pete,

it may be a fault in the flasher relay. The MK 1 system is relatively complicated, the flasher relay is a change over type rather than a simple open and shut contact and the change over contact only feeds the indicator tell tale lamps in the instrument cluster. If there is a bad contact within the relay or a poor connection downstream of that could give your fault?
Do you have a diagram and or a meter to be able to do some checks?
