front carb was flooding, managed to sort othe leak, obviously float stuck, [
, still don’t like air filter arrangement so going to explore using air filters outside of housing , sealing off the outside of filters with home made gaskets thereby increasing the amount of air to the carbs as I think it’s running rich anyway!

Re: Carb
drove car 10 miles without any air filters. . Ran perfectly I appreciate you cannot do that for long but wanted to se what difference it made, quite honestly none
Re: Carb
I used to use chrome pancake type filters with foam inside as the filter media with a light application of oil. I don't know what the difference was regarding how many litres of air could be sucked in or cubic feet per minute but I always noticed a significant increase in noise, the air intake noise was like a hissing sound, I could even hear it inside the car.
Intrestingly, Paul Ireland's book about classic engines - modern fuel found that there was no performance gains with the separate k and n types.
In the past I only used the pancake filters as they were cheap being re-useable.
So I stick to the original set up now.
