Hello,
I've just discovered a slightly easier way of quoting a specific piece of a post - apologies to those of you who undoubtedly knew this already:
At the bottom of the thread, click the 'Reply' button. A blank posting window will appear as normal. Scroll down and you will see the rest of the thread, in reverse order. Go to the post you want to quote, highlight the piece of text you want to quote, and click the 'Quote' button in the window of that actual post.
This will automatically cut that piece of text and place it in your empty posting window at the top of the page, together with the correct username at the beginning of the quote.
Simples.
Only took me a year and a half to find that out.
The other two methods of course are:
Simply click the 'Quote' button at the end of the thread. This will quote the entire content of the last post, together with the name of that user at the beginning of the quote.
or:
Cut and paste a specific piece of text into your new window. Select it all and click the 'Quote' button that lies within the code buttons just above your current post window. This does not add any username to the beginning of the quote.

Re: Quoting
I have always used your second method Allen, of quoting the whole thing and then just deleted the parts I didn't need.
I will try the other method when I need it, but thanks for that
Colin.
