It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of our former webmaster and recipient of the 2002 Derek Milward Award. Matt owned a Mk2 2000 as his every day car for a number of years and developed the website including this forum holding the post from 2001 until 2007 when it was handed over to Alan Walker. Matt was born and educated in Kent and settled near Folkestone working with computers and running computer training courses both in the UK and abroad. Deciding on a career change he trained and joined Kent Police and latterly transferred to the Met working in the Brixton area. His dry sense of humour was legendary and he was always popular being able to jest about most situations. He was only 51 and leaves his sons William and Tom, both at primary school, and is sadly missed by everyone that had the pleasure in knowing him.
RIP Matt

Charles,

That is such sad and tragic news, Matt did indeed help our club greatly in setting up our original website and running it for many years.

Thank you for posting this, huge shame.
