Drivers seat runner

#1 Post by BigJohn » Sun Jan 17, 2021 3:31 pm

I have discovered a crack in the inner section of my drivers seat runner. If any one has a complete assembly for sale, or even an inner, they would sell and post I'd be obliged.

I discovered it when replacing the seat diaphragm with a repro one, it was thicker than then fitted. That left me feeling like I'd arm wrestled a bear as I couldn't find my brake spring puller. I found the knack using 6" Vise Grips after doing 8 hooks. I now don't sink in the seat. Happy days.

I have some used Mk2 seat runners tucked away in the garage - I can check tomorrow for you if you wish. I can also look for the front tread plate that you previously mentioned as well, if you have not been able to straighten your existing one out!

Hi John, that would be wonderful, no, I haven't even looked at the tread plate I've been preoccupied wrestling a thick sheet of rubber! :D The old one was still in one piece, just stretched a lot. Due to Covid restrictions would post be possible, or you can hang on to the bits until I can stop shielding.
Many Thanks, John.

John,
I have sorted out several used front tread plates for you to choose from, and also some seat runners. There were several variations of seat runners over the years; if you can take a picture of your existing one and either WhatsApp it or email it to me? Or ring me?
You have my mobile no in one of our previous pm's or in SIXappeal.

Hi John, Many thanks, I think it's a bit late now to go out into the garage and take pictures, and I don't think you'd appreciate a phone call after 11pm. Whats the best time to ring you. Cheers. John.
