Re: mk1 steel wheel
It always amazes me when a wanted topic is posted, and following a response, nothing further is heard from the OP. I now understand they are in Northampton.
I have numerous surplus Mk1 steel wheel rims if one (or more) is still required.

Re: mk1 steel wheel
Hi All
I'm after Mk1 wheels to replace the TR6 ones fitted to my car. I'm in Kent so courier costs might be prohibitive but I would be pleased to hear if anyone has a set for sale and cost. I can get courier costs / arrange collection. I also need a new dash to replace the one I have which has had x3 aftermarket dials fitted (I'd prefer the originality of an unmolested dash and I can live without knowing the time / oil pressure / battery volts!)
I'm assuming the TR6 wheels were a straight fitment onto the hubs and I can swap them over for Mk1's without the hassle of changing the hubs? If someone can send me wheel stud dims so I can check (I can't see wheel stud dimension details in the handbook I have)

Re: mk1 steel wheel
I may be able to provide you with a set of Mk1 rims, but would have to check - how desperate are you for them?
Which part of the dash are you referring to - I presume you mean the centre cubby hole drop down lid forward of the gear lever? If so, how old is your car because early Mk1's had a black plastic lid whilst later Mk1 models had a wooden one.
Quite a few people put TR6 rims on the 2000 range and as far as I'm aware they are a direct fit without any modifications.

Re: mk1 steel wheel
Thanks. I'm in no rush - currently she sits on TR6 wheel as per photo so very usable 'as is', I'd just like to get her back on original wheels at some point!
Good question re dash. Its a pre facelift Mk1 (built 1964, registered in 1965) and dash currently looks like the photo so I assume I need the whole lower section which includes around the steering wheel. I'd also like a pre face lift steering wheel but I suspect they are quite rare now and I can see people on facebook have all sorts of hassle with steering wheels so my plan is to sort the dash and then do the steering wheel later. Looks like someone must have blanked off the vents (?) and cut out the section to add the gauges. I haven't taken the panel off yet to see what lurks behind but hopefully the vents can be reconnected and wiring tidied up when I have the dash off.

Re: mk1 steel wheel
These are the parts I think you require for your car to put it back to original.
Lower dash trim panel without the later eyeball vents and upper heater controls Early glove box / cubby hole lid (plastic with the Triumph logo) fitted with the above dash panel Later wood glove box / cubby hole lid fitted with the dash trim panel with eyeball vents, and the heater controls incorporated into the dash trim panel Hope this helps you determine the exact parts you require.
Your car will not have had eyeball vents in the centre of the dash being a 1964 model.
