Having been in contact with Dave about his desire for a 'tatty but complete' Mk1, he has said he basically wants a late car that is complete but a 'breaker' as a supply of parts for his own car.
However, he appreciates that the days of a £50 banger are long gone...

Tatty complete car is what i,am after but i feel i might be 20 years behind the times on prices!
That MK1 on ebay caught my eye but of course not as a breaker at 3k,seems OK but what do others think?

I don't think it is a £3000 car - evidence of previous sill work, rot in the rear nearside wheelarch and a tired interior (although it superficially looks ok from a 'distance').
What is your Mk1 like in comparison Dave?
I understand you have spent a lot of time and money on yours, so I think you would be better off looking for a real 'banger' to get the future spare parts you want. Unless yours is a real rot box, then you would not be gaining anything by getting one such as this which will no doubt still need money spending on it.
Just my thoughts.....
