Anti roll bar

#1 Post by Iceblue72 » Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:36 pm

I understand front anti roll bars were factory fitted to estates and ‘S’ saloons. It has been suggested that it would be a useful addition to my 72 2.5 PI saloon. How practical would it be to do this and what would it entail .

I think this has been covered before.
I'm not sure of the reasoning behind fitting an ARB to S models, but bear in mind that the S originally had softer front springs than the 2000 and the PI, probably due to having an ARB.
Years ago, I fitted an ARB set up to a 1972 PI saloon from a scrap S, but kept the original (firmer) front springs. Didn't really notice any difference in how it handled. I didn't think it was worth the time and effort being honest.
