Wheel nuts
Hi . I’ve just bought a set of stag alloy wheels for my 2000 but don’t have any wheel nuts. I take it that I can’t use my original nuts and will I need stag nuts or does anyone know if there are any other nuts that would fit.
Re: Wheel nuts
Are they Stag alloys or S alloys? Or Stag nuts or S nuts? Often referred to as Stag alloys, they should also be called S alloys, surely!!
The steel nuts from your 13" steel rims can't be used, as they have a tapered seat, whereas the S alloy wheel nuts have a flat seat. There are black and chrome steel nuts versions available with flat seats, but the original nuts were actually alloy, and if overtightened by a neanderthal tyre fitter, are easily stripped.
If you didnt want the original alloy nuts, then I would check the Stag part suppliers, but you may be surprised at the cost.... as you will obviously need 16 (and if you still have the steel spare, retain an additional 4 of the original steel nuts)

Re: Wheel nuts
Thanks johnnydog. That’s more or less what I thought. I was hoping for an easy fix but it looks like I’ll
just have to bite the bullet and buy a new set.

I know its not every ones cup of tea, but you may get a response on the various Triumph 2000 or Stag facebook pages, a lot of members use them these days. As John said, they're expensive new, £5 or £6 each. Try Lloyd Reed or David Harvey on FB for starters. Good luck!
