Brake part identification

Hi groupies,

Not just a Triumph specific query maybe but one that an older citizen of these isles might still have access to the relevant documentation.

Does anyone have a Moprod parts catalogue which includes brake ancillaries? I'm looking to see what vehicles part number MBS54 relates to. It is really difficult to read the alphanumerics on a much faded label. Some Triumph ones like the 2000 saloon and one of the TR7's perhaps (early type?).

Can anyone give a more definitive list?

cheers,

Kev

I think you may have a digit missing. What are the components that you trying to identify? Many part suppliers identify the name of the part in the number, e.g. Unipart used GCC in clutch covers, GSJ for suspension joints, GUJ in universal joints etc etc. Assuming you are correct with the MBS part no. you quoted, I have found examples of Moprod brake repair kits labelled MBR, carburettor kits with CK, and brake hoses labelled BH. Some items gave the M prefix, some just relate to the type of item with two letters. MBS refers to brake shoes in a lot of instances, but many have 3 numbers after the letters.
Perhaps not much use to you, but may help in narrowing your search.
Are you talking about rear brake shoes by chance?

Johnnydog,

The first three digits seem to be MBS, which I took to be Moprod Brake System. Of course these might be M85 such is the fading of the label. I cannot see any printed trace after 54.

And yes, brake shoes.

Would posting a picture on here possibly help? Someone may be able to visually identify them.

Not these, are they by any chance?
Dunno, I clicked on the link but my system refused to push it through and doing an eBay search on those words/id did not list the item.

Yeah, I eventually found it and when comparing the id number in eBay and the id number quoted in the link, there was a couple of digits missing.

Still no further forward as dem der brakes are for a Toledo/early Dolly and would be too small for later stuff.
