Tyre size for TR& wheels

Im about to put TR6 15" x 5.5 wheels on my Mk 1 2000. Does anybody have any recommendations for tyre size. I am thinking about 185 x 65 x15, but is 195 x 60 x 15 also an option? The circumference of the 195 x 60 x 15 seems to be slightly closer to the original.

I have 195/60/15 on one of my mk2's, a bit of a 'snug' fit on the rear arches, but you'll have plenty room on a mk1 with the narrower track. As you say, the 60 series tyre gives a very close rolling circumference to the original 175x13.

I had these (TR6) wheels on my Mk1 and they had 185/65/15 tyres.
I've now gone back to 175/13 (just personal preference to have the original wheel trims back on). The speedo is noticeably less 'wobbly' than before but I had no issues with the TR6 wheels.

Yes, they are 5.5J rims.
