Steering column splines.

Hi all , does anyone off hand know how many splines there are on the steering column of my mk1 68 2000 , as I'm looking at getting a new wheel , so I need to know what boss to get . and I have been asked the shaft diameter at the same time , if its on record some where it would save me trying to count them
