Hello all, im after some advice please.
I have fitted an electric fan kit from Manvers Triumph, which I am very happy with. Nice easy installation, works well and looks quite good also.
I only have one problem with it...... the thermostatic control is via a capillary kit.
I.e. a thermostat sits in the radiator and the sender wire comes out of the top hose connection to the adjustment pot.
I can't get a water tight seal around where the sender comes out under the top hose. I have used PTFE tape which has helped, but it still leaks.
any ideas?
Also I have some K&N's which were listed for the 2500S but they are still too wide to fit between the carbs and the turret.
Has any body else got these fitted? did you have to replace your engine mounts, or shim them to move the engine over?
any suggestions welcomed!
Thanks

Hello Owen,
put some silicone gasket cement on the stub, and really tighten the jubilee clip.
Kenlowe supply a special shaped rubber piece but over time mine gave up. I find that silicone works.

Yes - it should have a special piece of rubber that sits on the metal pipe; capillary above fitting into a grove, then hose slipped over the two. I think I've successfully ground / or cut a tiny, tight grove in the hose itself, if you haven't got that shaped piece of rubber ... which no one has. They always leak, so kits now tie the thermostat to the radiator core.
