Re: Wanted 2500S rear panel badge

The badge on later cars on the front panel had a smooth surface - it was the earlier models (upto approx 1973) that had raised lettering that were prone to fading.
For some reason, on the 'S' (and later cars), the front badge was smooth and the rear and C pillar badges were all raised lettering.
The ...

Re: Wanted 2500S rear panel badge

The '2500S' badge on the rear panel and the 'S' badge on the 'C' pillars are always prone to fading, and the black letters become a gold colour. It happens here in the UK, so it can't be sun related!!!! Worth checking Ebay, and the parts suppliers that can be found in the Register magazine Six ...

Re: New Member Sydney Australia

Hi Keith,
Welcome to the Register forum!
Your 'S' looks in good order. The colour is certainly not one seen in here in the UK - no Triumph 2000 /2500's were finished in metallic colours from the factory. Is yours the original paint (a quick check of areas not normally seen except by lifting carpets ...

Re: Mirrors: doors or wings?

I would agree with Colin (craj) - the Tex reproduction mirrors currently available are not the same quality as the ones originally fitted to our cars. Where the mirror head fastens to the mirror body seems a weak spot, and they regularly needs tightening to prevent the mirror head from moving at ...

Re: Mirrors: doors or wings?

If you want originality, then go for the door mirrors. The 'S' doesn't look right with wing mirrors.
However the original type of door mirror is pretty useless with a flat lens; I go for a convex to get a wider field of rearward vision.

£970 for the Bolton 3.2 Elite - if it was as good as the listing implied, then a lot of car for the money......

Re: has to be one for johnnydog

I think the 'boss' would have my guts if I got another at this present time!!
Although the colour sat nav is a rarity and is worth several hundred quid on its own (as opposed to the standard monochrome display)..... no, deaf and dumb meals for a month - better not..!!

Re: has to be one for johnnydog

Yes, I drove one many years ago Alan - very fast in a straight line; somewhat lacking in looks, but that's down to personal taste of course.....!
