Re: Very hot alternator
I have a Lucas 15ACR (a very early Mk2 alternator with the early connector block with the 'loop' cable) on my J reg. 2000. Several years ago whilst on the first Northumberland National, it started over charging, which I only noticed due to the higher than normal reading on the voltmeter in the car. ...

Re: Triumph touring
Very interesting topic Michael! The car certainly did well. Not many would consider a European trip in their Triumph. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

Triumph 2500S export brochures
Not exactly a car part, but car related... Just on the off chance has anyone got a copy of these two 2500S brochures that they would sell me? The blue fronted version is for the Australian market Screenshot_20230920-000457_Google.jpg The brown 2500S is for the New Zealand Market Screenshot_20230919-...

Re: Triumph touring
Stunning scenery Michael. I think a road trip undertaken in a Triumph rather than a modern car adds to the enjoyment of the whole adventure. Last big trip abroad in OJAG was in the late 80's when I went to La Rochelle (via the Saint- Nazaire bridge) which was an great experience, and then the follow...

Re: Triumph touring
Well, I don't mind anyone knocking ten years off so long as it's off me rather than the car-but a while back on this forum a user called sorbs mentioned he had comm no 1173 made in OCT and mine is 4645 but I don't know if sorbs and his car are still with us in the register. The trip is going well t...

Re: MkI PI Estate LHD
Reading the listing, although a very rare model, it's not a restoration for the faint hearted! Jasmine is not my favourite colour, but that's subjective of course. It's had some bids retracted - whether it has been looked at in the flesh and the extent of the work required has sunk in...

Re: Triumph touring
A very interesting read Michael! It's good to see an owner making the long journey into Europe in their 43 year old Triumph! I look forward to the next leg of your journey...! Incidentally, it's interesting to see the reg of your Mk2 PJA---H - 'JA' being an old Stockport number. My Royal Blue Mk1 ha...
