I am thinking, as i do seem a little ' where am i ' with the car right now - not forgetting it still has this ' i dont want to go above 45 ish mph issue - is it the box, a fuel issue., me being too prudent... the going around in circles scenario.... i need some more hands on expert advice from guys...

A great turnout at the Picnic today, the Register was well represented. Unfortunately I had to leave at 12, we had a new kitten to collect, hopefully I'll get to stay longer next year.

Still amassing parts for the PI conversion: Reconditioned throttle bodies with roller bearings & improved spindles bought from Martin Giles along with recon metering unit & a diaphragm PRV. Semi-sports exhaust & 6-3-1 manifold ordered from Chris Witor, along with other small bits NOS Mk1 PI Speedome...

I used a Stag M/cyl, need to replace the 4-way union on the inner wing with a 3-way and run a rear brake line down to splice into the rear circuit. I did replace all components with Stag parts however, including the Servo.

Do you have a viscous fan fitted? a failing coupling sounds not dissimilar to big end trouble, it wouldn't explain the oil pressure issue but it could be your noise.

I think because it syphons back, doesn't it? Also I think the oil in the oilways up in the block can run back, through the filter, if there is no non-return valve. To syphon back there would have to be a vacuum in the block, I don't believe there is one, I've certainly never noticed it when removin...
