Re: Voltage stabiliser
Never seen a capacitor attached to the voltage stabiliser but I guess it could be something to do with smoothing. I think the stabiliser is 12v in and 9v out to the gauges (2 of them). Yes, I would think you could do away with it but a previous owner must have considered a need for it. However, new ...

Re: Suspension data
A very good point Alec. You don't happen to know the conversion formula do you?Alec wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 1:12 pm hello Both,
just an aside,
modern equipment seems to work in degrees, so some conversion required?

Re: Suspension data
According to two official BL workshop manuals (AKM 3974 and AKM 3647/A) the figures differ.
AKM 3647/A - MK1 and MK2
front - 1/16th to 1/8th" toe in (1.58mm to 3.18mm)
rear - 0 to 1/16th" toe in (0mm - 1.58mm)
AKM 3974 - Mk1 and Mk2
front and rear 0 to 1/16th" (0mm to 1.6mm) toe in

Re: Wheel balancing
Hello Torque2me,
I haven't seen an on car balancer for decades. While theoretically they are superior the mass and accuracy of the hub and disc means the effect is small compared to the wheel and tyre.
I was not aware, never having an 'S' that the wheels needed adaptors for standard balancing ...

Suspension data
Hi,
Can anyone provide tracking data for a T2500s such as toe in/out? Pointers to publications is o.k. but much of my Triumph manuals and documentation is in storage at the moment.

Re: Wheel balancing
I'm just wondering where the advise to balance on the car came from...?
From many in the trade be it BL or independent especially the staff at the RAC facility at Maypole, Birmingham (two former Triumph final inspection bods). Your mileage/experience will be different
Are the wheel rims steel ...

Wheel balancing
Hi Groupies.
I don't know what the Chinese calendar name is for this year but for me it is the year of the wheel (and tyre).
First, a Rover 75 (not the 1950's type). 3 Seasons wheel/tyre changed for winter types (what winter I hear you ask, but you know if they had not been changed we would have ...

Re: Heater valve
Admittedly, it's a very awkward job. The valve on my car has been stuck for as long as I've owned it (1981). I took the easy way out of a gate valve in-line, it's open in winter, closed when it's properly hot weather and just cracked open the rest of the time for a bit of demisting. It would be ...
