Re: Rare/desirable options...

However, on later Mk1's, one factory option was the heated rear window. It wasn't like the Mk2 hrw - it was very similar to the heated front screen currently available on Fords and Range Rovers - very fine vertical elements which were difficult to see except on close inspection. They were only in ...

Re: Oil cooler for a MK1 2000 Automatic

Lee Godfrey mentioned this thread on the Facebook 2000/2500 fan page yesterday, and it reminded me that I hadn't posted an update on progress

The cooler kit from Mocal fitted very well. Access for removing the existing link pipe on the gearbox is very limited, but not impossible. The photo ...

Yes, sold to a chap from Essex who is collecting the car in the morning. Will be sorry to see him go.

Re: Oil cooler for a MK1 2000 Automatic

I have just spoken to an extremely helpful chap at Think Auto (Mocal). They do a kit for the BW35 transmission which picks up on the existing connectors to the link pipe, and includes tubing, clips, brackets and of course the oil cooler itself.

Total cost for the kit is £133.27 plus VAT. Since it's ...

Just checked and you are absolutely correct Mike! Thanks for the tip. :D

Just need to get hold of the pipes, cooler and brackets now.

Re: Oil cooler for a MK1 2000 Automatic

Thanks Mike.

I think the best plan is to get underneath the car this evening and have a look at what's there. The ideal scenario would be a link pipe that just needs to be removed to add the cooling pipes :D

Re: Oil cooler for a MK1 2000 Automatic

Thanks Lee.

I am a bit concerned that the two parts shown in the Stag parts diagram attached - 150869 & 154865 - will need to be fitted to the gearbox, and I have a sneaking suspicion that it won't just be a case of screwing them in. :?

Do they need to somehow engage with the pump inside the box ...

Re: Our new MK1 !!

Thanks Colin! :D :D

Mixed emotions, but Horatio will be moving on. I don't have the time (or spare cash) to even contemplate owning two. :? The intention is for the MK1 to be a car to use rather than a car to polish.

However, I need to get the MK1 ready for towing. I picked up a towbar from Lee ...

Oil cooler for a MK1 2000 Automatic

Our new MK1 2000 has arrived and already I have a question!

There isn't a cooler fitted to the transmission, and after a bit of searching on this forum I have realised that only the 2.5/2500 got them as standard, and the poor 2000 had to go without. :(

As I intend to tow with the car, I ...
