Re: Rear brake nipples

I think you'll find that the ones advertised are metrics when I was working,I used to fit them.I did take one and re-thread it UNF to suit the prop shaft and other grease nipples, but I certainly would not trust putting modified ones into the brake cylinders.

Re: Going for twin webers

Gary,
glad it's all working out fine for you and the car. It's always good to see an alternative being tried and used that does not include EFI.Always had a soft spot for the Weber, please keep the information coming on how they settle in!
Good luck,
Bill.

Re: Petrol leaking from filler cap

Hi John, hope you and yours are well.
I was looking at your tank parts lists, and a three point cap, BC15 part No.616924 is listed.Could this be the mystery cap?
Just a thought,
Take care,Bill.

Re: Going for twin webers

G, The carbs you are talking about are downdraft units, all the Six engines as far as I know run on sidedraft, whether injection, Strombergs, S.U.s ,HS4 or HS6.,and Webers,40,45,48 DCOE. As Michael says, it will be interesting to see how they perform. For the size and tune you are talking about, have...

Re: Rubber steering coupling - does this look right?

John/Mike, Thanks for your reply on the steering shafts. I know theses couplings are getting harder to get in a reliable form and I am just trying to see what would fit as an optional alternative. Before I went down that route,I think I would be looking to other sources ,possibly in polybushing. Than...

Re: Rubber steering coupling - does this look right?

John, Hope you are well. You stated in this thread..whereas manual steering models had solid upper and lower UJ couplings with a longer solid shaft between them. Looking forward, would this 2 U/J system fit my car, as I'm sure that my last one of the same year had the "solid" shaft fitted.I'm sure at...
