Full marks, thanks Mike, fan belt had loosened up. Quick fix at least. Yes, you don’t see many (if any) big triumphs on the roads where I am. I know there are members around lyon.
Lots of other classics though, and many weekend meets, where I reckon I will be the only PI. Even Stags are few and far ...

Fuel or ignition
I’m having fun driving the car. Pulls really well, nicer to drive in the higher gears than the lower range. The car likes to go at a brisk speed and sounds great. One or two bedding in issues, the engine seems to want to cut out at low speeds after its had a run. Starts again with a bit of choke but ...

Grease guns
Hello,
I do have a grease gun, but I am not sure it will actually force the new grease into things like propshaft grease nipples. Is there an attachment or type of nozzle that is suitable for 1970’s triumphs? And is there a list of all the points that should be greased?
Thank you!

Radiator filling

The top hose and thermostat being above the radiator and all. My bottom hose always seems cool so I suspect thermostat may not be opening, or I have an ...

Champagne!
Just wanted to share that I took the PI for its first MOT (Controle Technique) this morning.
Its worse than going to the doctors, but I’m delighted to say that the car passed with flying colours. Not a single observation or item to correct! I knew it wasn’t bad, but this is a great start to 2026 ...

Re: First run out
Thanks Mike, there is a good YouTube video on setting the throttle bodies (on a TR6). It made things a lot clearer for me.

Re: Fan belt
Thanks Johnny, I’ve ordered a 1088mm, hoping thats not too much the other way. If not it will just have to be third time lucky (at least they are not the most expensive components!).

Valve cover gasket
Just to confirm to those that were wondering, that a 20 year old valve cover gasket does need replacement….
