Re: Seat Refurbishment
Thanks for this. Whilst the car is BRG the trim is Beige. (C74) I have Alfa front seats fitted (by previous owner) but I was lucky to buy back the original front seats from the guy he sold them to so my intention is to get them and the rear set refurbished. They have all faded on the top edges but I...

Re: Seat Refurbishment
Hi Forkie Thanks for this. I know Carbodies finished off the estates but at that time I would have thought manufacturers would have been using suppliers in the UK. I did have a discussion with a guy at a show a few years back that said his father worked for a company in Birmingham that upholstered s...

2500TC Saloon OFF 232K
Does anyone know of this car? Apparently it was once owned by Jim Hamish Wilson a club member. My wife had it pop up on her Facebook Marketplace. It’s up for £9250.00. The seller puts himself as ‘Roger’ from Hook Hampshire. The plate shows it a 2.5Pi in Pimiento. It looks like it has twin SU’s on it...

Seat Refurbishment
I have the velour cloth seats coverings in beige (C74). I am looking to get these redone and have been looking around and asking a few people what’s about and what they have done. This cloth was popular in a lot of BL cars in the day being used in most Triumph models in various colours. Mine are ver...

Re: Fuel Mixture
Many thanks for your reply Alec. I have done some further investigating and found the problem is when I use the choke. When the choke is pulled it pulls back the jet to richen the mixture for cold starting. I found that on the front carb the jet was not returning fully. The misfire then disappeared ...

Fuel Mixture
I’m having trouble tuning up the carbs. Tick over has always been a bit erratic and the old girl has always smelt a bit rich, however acceleration and power has been good but I have recently noticed fuel consumption has got worse. So today I decided to fit a set of new needles and clean up the dash ...

Re: Diff oil
I use GL5 spec as per the manual states. I have been using the Halfords own brand which seems ok. In all the cars I’ve had I have never seen dirty gearbox or diff oil. On all my vehicles I have always changed all oils and fluids annually as a minimum and sometimes twice a year with engine oil & filt...
