Re: Subframe rear mounts

Hi Simon
I’ve used Plumbers Mait as a good sealant for these jobs. It’s a non setting type of putty very similar to the what was originally used around the top of struts. I used it when I renewed the front struts on my car and it done the job perfectly. It’s available from your local plumbing shop ...

Re: Fan / Water Pump

Thank you Charles and Johnnydog. You are correct it is the wrong fan. Have managed to dig out the old one and it has smaller blades so will attempt to clean it up. I got the new one from an autojumble and it was marked up with part numbers for our cars. Should have checked! I think it may be for a ...

Re: Fan / Water Pump

Sorry I hit the send button too early!

I am on the final straight with my engine assembly. After fitting the bottom pulley, water pump and alternator the pulleys all lined up nicely and I fitted the fan belt and it all looked good. However, when I can to fit the fan blades on to the viscous fan ...

Re: Compatibility between 2000Mk 2 & the 2.5 PI

Hi Simon

There are quite a few differences between the two. The main block and head are unique to each model and variation. The main block on the 2.5 is a different size, slightly taller to accommodate the extra 500cc. Many of the smaller items such as fixing brackets are the same. The parts book ...

Re: rocker alignment

Hi Valencia
How did you get over your rocker arm problem? I have just ordered some new ones with brass bushes. Part nos. 109023X & 109024X.
I have the same problem. The angle is different. I hope to assemble it all and fit it on the head on Tuesday but first impressions, I am not sure it will work ...

Re: New heating pipe olive

Hi Simon

I have just fitted this pipe to my 2500TC engine which I am rebuilding. I got it from Chris. You will more than likely need to cut it down slightly. It’s not a fault as such but as you will probably find out, the engine for our cars is fitted to a few other models such as the TR range so I ...

Thanks Johnnydog, I had spotted most of those. Strange about the Pi expansion tank! I think we will pass on this one.

EBay - 2500S For Sale

Anyone know anything about this car? MWB 941P. Is it known to anyone? Looks good on the photos. My mate is interested but not at that price.
