Thanks for those informative replies - it's much appreciated.
I think I'll rebuild the metering unit and Lucas pump with new seals and 'O' rings.
Then it's just a question of draining half a tank of twenty years old LRP out of the tank!

Running a pi on modern fuel
I'm about to convert my pi back to a standard Lucas injection set up however I have a couple of questions regarding this. Firstly will the Lucas system run happily on modern unleaded fuel or will it need an additive to provide lubrication of the metering unit? Secondly will modern fuel affect the ru...

Re: Front wing/valance drain hole?
Thanks for the reply and photo Johnnydog - that’s just as I thought it might be.
I’ve also completely rebuilt the lower rear of the front wing/arch and nose of the sill and have made sure that water can drain from that area.

Diff identity

About twenty years ago I transplanted the complete rear subframe/suspension/diff assembly from a very low mileage Mk2 2.5 PI (which think was an automatic) into my ...

Hello from East Yorkshire
Hello, I just thought I'd introduce myself. Although I've only just joined this forum I've always owned a 'big' Triumph since I was eighteen which is over forty years ago and was previously a member of the Register. My first car was a Mk1 2000 which was replaced with a Mk2 2.5pi in 1981 which I stil...
