Re: Engine upgrade
The compressions are good this was the reason for doing the head. Carbs are easy. I use the stethoscope and two little flow meters swaping them round in case they are not identical. Afterwards I do a CO check. I am from the old school a piece of hose in your ear is better than a meter. I set the poi...

Re: Engine upgrade
I know the settings are correct. They were done using the Vacuum technique, compression tester, digital rev counter, little engine computor, strobe and a CO meter. I have a lot of stuff from my TR6, head, Carbs 175CD Strombergs etc I wonder if it would be worth trying to fit them onto the 2000 engine.

Re: Engine upgrade
It is (I believe) a 1975 TC 2000 with SUs ML21224DLO In the late 60s, early 70s I had a MK1 2000 estate and that was much quicker. This one is terrible when pulling away from the lights in 1st gear. Once at the high end of the revs in 2nd gear it starts to be a bit lively.

Re: Engine upgrade
The engine has had the head done up and hardened seats put in. The consumption and Exhaust values are good. the acceleration and top speed that are very poor even using the J type O/D. Actually I don`t really know the total wieght of this Boiler plate rubbish but it is dammed heavy when you want to ...

Engine upgrade
I am just wondering if I should do an Engine upgrade. I have a late 2000 MK2 which is lacking in power and pulls away very badly, partially because I have a 1/4 CWT of boiler plate mounted under the car. Triumphs solution for driving off road. What small improvements can be made with out a major cha...

By the way the long nose crank was up to CC 50.000
The short nose was from CC 50.001
They has matching flywheels and short and long bushes to match the flywheel.
