Re: Petrol Injection rebuild
Thanks Alec yes we did anticipate that the wiring might cause voltage loss so we ran a seperate new line to be sure and the voltage doesnt drop at the pump. Whilst the metering unti itself is a complex piece of kit from what I read, the rest of the system is relatively simple to understand and test ...

Re: Petrol Injection rebuild
Thanks for your repleis Teh injectors are brand new as are the pipes to them, never been used. Is 7 bar really too low? I read this online " fuel at pressure 100-110 lbf/in2 (689.50-758.50 kN/m2" . So thats 6.8 to 7.58 bar, sure 5.5 is probably too low but surely we should see SOME pressurised petro...

Re: Petrol Injection rebuild
... and here's the PRV we were provided. We don't seem to have any fuel at the metering unit exits, nor return pipe to the reservoir. Next we'll check to ensure the red coupler isn't broken, if so then I think the metering unit won't distribute anything, If its fine and the shaft is turning, then co...

Re: White paint
I have had several Triumph 2000 / 2.5PI / S models in Triumph White, which is more of a 'creamy' white. All have been paint code 19. Triumph colours are grouped together, whites, blues, reds etc, although some variations in colour are hardly what you and I would describe as the 'main' colour. Honey...

Re: Tracing a Big T's history
The numeral prefix to the Commission Number indicates that the car would have been assembled at one of Triumph's overseas assembly plants (Belgium, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand). I am pretty sure that '1' signifies assembly at Malines in Belgium. Some LHD cars were also assembled at Canl...

Re: Door and windcsreen rubbers
Maybe the softer rubber makes them easier to mount. Still if they don't seal properly then moot point really My son mounted two front doors and said it was a b....d of a job. I'm also waiting on CW supplies to come in for the window rubbers kit he has CW9098 Then we have 4 doors to redo hot water an...

Re: Rear Three quarter vinyl
As far as I am aware, oblique following the window line. I think that the original alignment was on the glass side of the brightwork strip, but some cars do seem to have the leading edge of the vinyl in line with the rear edge of the brightwork, so perhaps the exact placement varied from car to car...

Tracing a Big T's history
Maybe this has been a topic in the forum already, I didn't find anything though. Maybe it was also a past Sixappeal article too, in which case apologies. My car is LHD and as far as I can tell it was bought from a French or Belgian Triumph dealer but I only have limited info and its all heresay. Is ...

White paint
Hello I need to refurbish the 4 doors of my 1972 Triumph 2.5 PI The colour is clearly white, but the plaque in the engine bay is blank where is says Paint code :? From the register web site I see there are apparently 3 white paint codes 19, 29 and 39, and watching a few videos of folk working on the...
