Re: Finding the best ignition values

Every one of my cars is always rolling road tuned after I've finished tinkering.... Interestingly even the Lada which I returned to original Russian spec (UK had ECU, 3-stage automatic choke, single exhaust manifold downpipe and a cat). I did use a genuine Weber (which is still manufactured) rather ...

Re: Finding the best ignition values

If you don't have a standard setup then the only way to get optimum performance, which will also ensure that you don't burn any valves out, is to get a rolling road setup....even if that does mean expense and a distance to travel.

Re: Finding the best ignition values

Are you on carbs or injection? Has a compression test been done?

The factory standard timing is valid as a starting point and incremental advance with checks for pinking out on the road is as valid as ever!

Re: Another seat belt question….

I had my Triumph belts refurbished and modernised, it's probably not the cheapest option but it gave a classic look - here's a link to the well established company that did the belts

Re: Sub-frames protection

Rustoleum is essentially an enamel paint.... It's dead simple to get a flat finish with matt, a little care is required with the satin but really it's down to the brush, i use Daler-Rowney System 3 brushes for small areas that Purdy are too big for and you need a bit of skill to get a flat finish ...

Re: Sub-frames protection

In the past I've used powder coating and reached the conclusion that it's a waste of money especially as I've now discovered Rustoleum combi colour.

It's white spirit based and is essentially an enamel paint that when used with decent brushes such as Purdy can be flatted and polished if you want a ...

Re: Over fueling on a pi

Clean the plugs with a wire brush and check their gap. Also convince yourself that the electrical side and timing is fine. Let's also assume all the vacuum hoses are in good order and the tappets are correctly adjusted.

If the MU (Metering Unit) is over fuelling there won't be any issue starting ...

Re: Stag Front Calipers & Disks - Again

I did this conversion in 2014 - the difference in braking is staggering although I did the rears as well and fitted stainless steel hoses too. I supply ADO16 stainless hoses and can do the Triumph hoses but have never got round to advertising

I've attached the list of parts I purchased at the ...
