Re: Why no love for autos?
Theee best car ive ever owned,a good few years ago now mind was the Vectra 2.5 V6 estate in manual. As this is a Triumph Forum, and not a Vauxhall Forum, i will end that here. BUT the Triumph 2.5 auto is a completely different beast. For its day , and its time, i wish i was there ! For instance, th...

What is this camshaft?
Any thoughts on this camshaft profile for a stock rebuilt 2500 S engine which will be running on twin SUs? https://i.imgur.com/FIjqdPAl.jpg I sent my 307621 for a regrind but the specs on what's come back doesn't seem to match the profile I expected. From what I can find online it's pretty close to ...

Camshaft options
I'm (still) in the process of rebuilding the engine from my 2500S and things are finally starting to take shape. My camshaft showed some light pitting to a couple of the lobes so I've sent it off to a reputable place in Victoria (Clive Cams) for inspection and hopefully a re-grind. The cam is a stoc...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge options
Good options re the eyeball vent - thanks both. I definitely have some spares knocking around so I might see what I can do with one of those. The clock location would work well for me as mine doesn't work anyway...

Oil Pressure Gauge options
I'm gradually approaching the tail end of my engine rebuild (yes, it's been around a year now - I blame having kids) and would like to fit an oil pressure gauge to my 2500S so that I can keep an eye of what's going on in there. I'd be interested in hearing what other people have done in this respect...

Re: Oil gallery plug fitting
Thanks Alec, very helpful. I'll grab some thread sealer
Do they definitively bottom out or do they just need to be done up until tight/flush with the block etc?

Oil gallery plug fitting
Any advice? I'm currently rebuilding my 2500 lump and have all the necessary plugs from Chris Witor - the old ones were removed by the machine shop. Do they go in dry? With Loctite? With RTV? Are they supposed to be a tight fit? Do they bottom out, or do I just drive them in a certain depth and leav...

Re: Rubber steering coupling - does this look right?
The bulkhead bush was fine with no play and no perishing so I left it be. Unfortunately the rubber sleeve for the spring was in less healthy condition and fell apart when I touched it so I'll have to come up with an alternative arrangement there. I'm not sure about the provenance of the wire locking...
