I find that the rheostat if fitted can cause a resistance. i tend to bypass it resulting in brighter dash lights.

Have you tried ringing the DVLA? When speaking with them in the past, I have found them very helpful assuming you get the right person on the call. They will be the best people to talk to as to what is required. Good luck.

There are two cables to the choke pull on a PI. One goes to the throttle linkage to increase revs. and the other to the overfuel lever on the MU. Mk 2 saloon rear bumpers will not fit any estate. The front bumpers are not really interchangeable between Mk1 and Mk2 since the nose and wing profiles are different, however in theory a Mk2 estate rear bumper and Mk1 estate rear bumper would fit but imho look odd.
