AUD678 are for the 2500TC and 2500S as per Rimmers website.....

According to Classic Carbs Australia, FZX1117R is for the Australian market Triumph 2500.

There should also be an aluminium identification tag attached to one of the screws for the dash pot covers, although they are often damaged and not replaced over time. They will identify the carb - HS6's usually are AUD574F / R (front /rear).

If you do remove each drive shaft to check them over, whilst the uj may feel OK with no play, they are prone to being 'notchy' in one direction - moving the shaft up and side to side will highlight any issue in any one plane. Can the vibration be felt through the steering wheel, the seat of your pants, or the rear transmission tunnel? Does the rear view mirror vibrate when it occurs?
