I had a spare pair of carbs, so got a good knowledgeable friend of mine to strip them and re-build them with new gaskets etc while I ran the car (1970 2000) on the existing, original carbs, which ran fine but were leaking enormous amounts of oil.

Oh dear. The man that was doing the inlet manifold flow balancing for Witor is unable to do any at the moment due to injury, and it doesn't look like he'll be able to do any soon, possibly ever.

I was hoping to have my inlet manifold done for my early MkII.

It's only an inch or less from the chassis, as it goes pretty-much straight from the downpipe to the back box. It no longer goes through the frame like the original.

It's all fitted and it looks great and sounds great. As for power difference, there is nothing noticeable below 3k RPM! So far no issues with the extra heat, it runs just as it used to. It got a bit warm when idling for a while, but I have an old electric fan fitted and can manually switch that on ...

I suppose I'll put it on as it is and then take it easy for a while to see how it goes.

Car in bits, manifolds and complete exhaust off. Seemed pointless putting it all back how it was and as postage was actually only £17.50, I rung Witor and ordered one of his 6-3-1s, which arrived today. It's the angle of that front pipe that makes all the difference!

Everyone was right. It doesn't fit! Crossmember. To make it fit would require some extreme bodging and bashing to move the edge of the pipes away, so I'll leave it and sell the manifold to someone with a TR6!

How did you get on with yours TRPi?

Looks like Witor is the only option, which is fine ...
