Re: New Forum registrations
As it had been a few months since the spam flooding of new user registrations, I re-enabled them last week and have promptly had over 25 'rogue' new registration attempts! I have deleted these rogues ones (and authorised a genuine one!) and have now, again, disabled new user registrations. If you ar...

Re: Acceleration stops at 50mph - max speed=50mph
Checking the Mk1 ring-binder manual agrees with the figure of 1.5 - 2.5PSI pressure but it also states a delivery of 1.5pints/minute (minimum). Although I'm not sure how you'd measure that without a proper flow meter. However, most analogue meters have an accuracy of 5-10% of full scale, so your 5PS...

Re: Alternator
I've tried to restore my 1949 Land Rover to as near-original as is financially viable, so it's virtually all back to BSF and BSW fittings - with a smattering of BA sizes too, even odd BA sizes! Good luck with the continental trip. I am actually in Normandy as I type this and I hope all goes well for...

Re: Alternator
If you can, check what the parts book say for that bolt and then check what the suppliers say what it is. Triumph has a method of specifying a bolt/setscrew which would tell you the size, thread type and length. The problem is to find out the details of that method! I too have a S1 Land Rover (1949 ...

Re: Alternator
I think it is 5/16" UNC. Coarse as the thread is in the alloy frame of the alternator. It should have a locknut behind it too - I think!
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: New Forum registrations
I replied yesterday about the email address typo but it seems to have disappeared!
Basically I thanked John and said that I had corrected the email address.
Cheer,
Mike.

Re: New Forum registrations
No, I hadn't, thanks John, now corrected.
Since the minor stroke I had 2 years ago, my left hand is a bit reticent to actually do what my brain is trying to tell it to do - well, that's my excuse anyway!
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Re- fitting drivers side parcel shelf
I originally bought the Land Rover back in 1975, so nearly 50 years! The Stag came into my ownership in 1987 (or 1988) so that's ~37 years... Thinking about it, I bought my 1st Triumph - a 1967 gunmetal Mk1 2000 in September 1974, so just coming up to 50 years ago. Sadly, it's now probably many razo...

New Forum registrations
The forum is being subjected to a lot of rogue registrations attempts. When someone attempts a new registration, that registration is held until I authorise it. In the last few days I have deleted over 60 rogues registrations in an attempt to try to protect the forum from rogues postings. I am there...
