Re: Uj on drive shaft

I thought it was only the Stag that had Peened in U/J's. To check beforehand, jack the backend up and check the inner U/J by the diff, to see if it has a circlip. Unless it has been 'tampered with both U/J's on the same half shaft should be the same style.

Re: Re- fitting drivers side parcel shelf

If I'm laughing; it is not at you, but with you.

That small deflector plate must have been designed to 'really' annoy people. I think using S/S screws and nuts help for the next time it has to come apart.

M Reg MkII PI Estate

Just seen a saphire blue M Reg MkII PI Estate. This is a pre-facelift; grill, instruments, seats etc.

The commission plate is MG80xxx, the engine is MG81xxx and it has the dual balance pipe throttle bodies.

Just wondering if there are any later pre-facelift estates?

MkI PI Brake parts - wanted

Would anyone have a spare Bracket for mounting the remote servo onto the battery tray and the plate for mounting the master cylinder to the bulkhead on a MkI PI?

Otherwise I'm going to have to get copying my saloon brackets for the estate...

Re: Trailing arms

I have always been happy with helicoiling the trailing arm studs. Never had a problem with one subsequently.

Bear in mind the Stag traling arm is the same as a MkII trailing arm if you are still looking for a replacement.

Re: Petrol Injection rebuild

I have found it useful to refill a drained (empty) system.

Take the spark plugs out of the head and disconect the ignition system at the LT on the coil.

This enables the starter motor to crank the engine over with less effort from the battery. A Hi-Torque starter helps even more.

Re: 2000/2.5/Stag Rear Cylinder Tool

Search on eBay for "Classic Mini Rear Brake Cylinder Clip Tool", no personal involvement.

Hi Johnny, sounds easy, but I struggle with it.
