What a total, complete and utter faff buying and selling houses is........ Having had our house on the market for nearly a year we have finally accepted an offer - much less than we wanted for it ideally but the loss is at least manageable. I thought that was the hard bit done - wrong! We found a house in the Peaks that we really liked a couple of weeks back. As soon as we had accepted an offer on ours i went straight back to the agent and made a sensible offer on it. The house is vacant with no mortgage on it so you would think they would be keen to do a deal asap. Well here we are a week and a bit later and still no word from the vendor to say yay or nay........ utterly exasperating!

The cure is obvious. I purchased my house in 1976 - I will leave in a box.

Well, we got fed up of waiting for that vendor to give us an answer, we have made an offer on another house which has been accepted so barring any hitches its all systems go!
