Hi everyone,

I'm trying to drum up some support for the concours at the TSSC International at Stafford this year. The 2000/2500 category is once again kindly being sponsored by Chris Witor/Superflex.

It would be really nice to put on a good display of big six Triumphs. The concours is open to anyone who is a member of any club. Information can be found on the website: http://www.tssc-international.co.uk.

If you are interested, please PM me via this forum, or email me at bigsaloon@tssc.org.uk

It would be really fantastic to see a good showing of our big Triumphs in Bingley Hall.

Thanks,
Mark

PS. I've just realised that all my references to "a certain club" look like swear words!

Hi Lee,

I think there is a plan to move things around a bit this year, as you say the invited clubs are normally stuck up on the top floor. There is going to be a display of modified Triumphs up there this time.

Friends and weddings eh? So inconsiderate! Wedding venues should really be issued with a calendar of Triumph events, so they know which dates to avoid!

I'll pop across (or up, or around!) to visit the club stand over the weekend, hope to see you all then.

Cheers
Mark

I've removed the word censoring from TSSC. I guess we've made our point. :P

As a member of both clubs (TSSC for 8 years now and in my 2nd with this one) I still find it disheartening to see members of Triumph related clubs disregard other clubs on various forums.

Being a relative newcomer to this lark I have noted that more recently clubs are coming together more for the benefit of all Triumph owners (Standard Triumph Day Prescott, Le Mans Classic 2010 and Duxford last year come to mind). I know that the TSSC had to really look long and hard at it's International Weekend event a few years ago and in my opinion has turned it around. Are there folk out there that would really want a show like that to close? I am pleased to hear that things will be moved around this year but I also think Mark is right in trying to drum up support and attendance. Unfortunately I can't make it in my 2000 Mk 1 saloon this year but my 1967 Herald 1200 conv was in the official display last year as an example of that model and I must say it was great fun. The more cars this club has there the more the TSSC will have to move you around as you won't fit on the top gallery!

Come on shoot my sentiments down in flames!

Nick................I know clubs have to pull togeather to drum up support and the TSSC originally catered for the Herald,Vitesse,Spitfire,Gt6 derived cars and in "my" opinion have jumped on the band wagon by trying to cater for all Triumph based cars.............now is this a good or bad thing??????............I don't know.
.........I have been a triumph owner for well over 20 years and started off with an Herald coupe,Vitesse and spitfire.......I know alot f people through the TSSC ...........I think each Club should stick to it's own marque and represent themselves as they do at such events as the TSSC National............why is your car not there?.

Ps ..............re Clubs having ago at each other............the Register does not do this......having been a member of both clubs I find the TSSC very clicky and they ones to call other clubs...... :(

Ahh Cheesy, you beat me to it!!

I was just logging on to drum up some support for this show.

As Englishbull has said, my father and I are setting up the club stand this year.

I will be in my 2500S and my dad in his 2000 TC.

the more the merrier!!!

I have just spent a few hours hoovering the interior & tidying up a few bits.....

took it for a spin and it feels great as ever - hope to meet some new faces as always!!

Doh, was going to go along to this but a 'mega action mountain biking weekend' in Scotland has come along on the same date.

Also, on Sunday 22nd, there is a really good car show taking place nearby at Lupin Farm, near Abbots Bromley, well worth leaving early and stopping in for a look. Their flyer shows quite a few Triumphs on display.

Hi Lee,
We appear to agree that variety and choice is the spice of life. I just think it is a shame that some people might not attend other club's shows. The North London Club Triumph lot meet once a month and I plan on going along to that soon.
I have a young family now and have to "trade" events, unfortunately the TSSC international lost out this year.
Looking forward to this club's international meet returning to the South East sometime?!

Nick

If you go back many years, then there was sever competition between clubs, and one didn't talk to the other or support each others events.

I'm pleased to say, in recent years this has changed significantly. Mainly due to the work of the Triumph Forum. This is where all the "management" of the various Triumph clubs meet up regularly to swap ideas and plan joint events. Such events as STIR, Triumph World Picnic, Triumph Marque Day, WCR40 and club National events.

We, and other clubs (CT, Stags, etc) ALWAYS support and attend each others National events. We have had a stand at the TSSC show for many years now, and at the Stag OC do, and likewise, they are always invited to ours. In fact, it would not surprise you to know that several of the Directors of this club are also members of CT, Stags and even the TSSC too........

So, its all good. I have been to the TSSC weekend before and throughly enjoyed it (not as good as our National though!).........

As for our National event coming back to the South East..... it is, next year! The 2011 National will be in Dover, then (I think?!) Nottingham, then Somerset then who knows........... depends who offers to run one!
