Hey folks,
Just been trying to sort out my parts bins, full of inherited and hand me down bits over the years to try and make some space and get shot of some less useful parts. Thats when I found a pair of unknown carbs (I believe HS6 spec) on a 6pot manifold.
The bodies are stamped AUC8490, the dashpots are AUC1332
I cant find if these were ever fitted to or could be fitted to Triumphs, anyone any clues?
I can see that the filter side of the carb wouldn't fit the HS6 plenum of a 2000/2500 as a start.
A search of google largely ends on ebay with items listed as the usual string of British makes with no specifics though someone suggested they do fit 2500.
Cheers,
Carburettor Identification AUC8490 (Will they fit?)

just looked in my SU manual and it shows all the numbers for every car but not the numbers for main body or the top piston cover ...sorry
a search on Burlen drew a blank but maybe give them a call

Do they still have the little aluminium tag under one float chamber screw? That (should!) give the total spec and is listed in the Burlen book.

Mike.

Sadly not, the only other numbers are;
on the body; PDC 3A and AUC 8490,
the dashpots; AUC1332
on the float chamber itself; AUC1310 PDC7

The needles should have their part number stamped on them and the dashpot spring may have a colour band to signify it's rate.
These could be used to at least confirm if they came from a Triumph 6 of some variety.
Cheers,
Mike.

The needles certainly don't look to be right. They seem really thick.
They are stamped with TW and the springs have no colours.
I'll try and get a photo maybe and see if it helps otherwise they'll just go on sale under the part name or in an autojumble somewhere.
Cheers

I'll see if I can find my Burlen needles listings and look for TW. Mind you, I did think that the SU needles had a 3 letter/number code, but maybe that was Strombergs!
Cheers,
Mike.

Hello Calorian,
a TW is Burlen reference AUD 1362. From my book it fits a 1965-66 TR4.
