Re: Master Cylinder
I am assuming your car is a late Mk1 and has the clutch master cylinder with a seperate reservoir on top - as on the Mk2's?
As long as the bore is in good order with no scoring or corrosion, then a seal repair kit would be OK.
The Mk2 clutch master cylinder is getting harder to find at sensible money - CW is asking well over £100 for the cylinder alone, but when I checked recently, he was out of stock. It doesn't come with a reservoir either.
The reservoirs are like the proverbial rocking horse to find, especially new. I have seen autojumblers asking £60 for them! A good secondhand one would be the viable option - if you can fnd one!

Okay....
Later mark one and all mark two?
The reservoir is the same as a Dolomite Sprint.
A Dolomite Sprint master cylinder could be used, it is the same bore. (Fit helicoils into the mounting flange?)
New MCs are also available from kit car suppliers. They also do reservoirs but these are much bigger (but still useable).

Re: Master Cylinder
The Stag uses the same reservoir but I think the master cylinder may have a different bore diameter.
Cheers,
Mike.

Yes......
A Stag MC bore is indeed bigger,
however you change the slave cylinder (from 7/8") to 1" bore to allow for this.
Ian.
