Lovely 2 owner Valencia Blue PI on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/222062609689
Everyone's bidding, up to £2050 in 24 hr's. I Wonder how much he payed the dealer for it? Is there any way you can find what the CAT D damage was?

Re: Nice PI on eBay
Always makes me suspicious of the quality of work carried out when you see suspension strut top nuts and bonnet release cable covered in Valencia paint.
First observations.....sill trims on upside down (why??), rear badges on wrong way round, and that front nearside wing looks decidedly ripply to me...., one of the doors (can't remember which without going back into the ad) looks a dodgy at the bottom.
But then again, it looks well in the photos, is a 40+ year old car, but just going from photos, you pays yer money and takes yer chance! Probably seen more paint than Picasso's easel
Has to be seen in the flesh, IMHO.

Re: Nice PI on eBay
There's been some discussion about this one on Facebook. Looks like it's been converted from left hand drive. The clues are there if you look carefully. Has a LHD steering column (i.e ignition switch on the right, indicators and wipers reversed), caps covering holes where the wipers were, along with the export spec tandem brakes. On the plus side this probably means the drives side carpet is less worn...

You did well there John in spotting the wiper holes and the ignition barrel! Perhaps a pointer with Tony's post about the brake master cylinder, but a good spot nevertheless!

Re: Nice PI on eBay
Alan Chatterton spotted the ignition barrel which started the discussion on Facebook, so he wins the prize for that.
Apparently it's also got a LDLO commission number which is an even bigger clue.

John, didn't your LHD 2000/2500 whatever it was a good few years ago have a YNF**L registration? Just a thought...........johnnydog wrote:You did well there John in spotting the wiper holes and the ignition barrel! Re: Nice PI on eBay
I can't remember for the life of me what the full reg was now of that Saffron 2000, probably because I wasn't that enthusiastic about the car, to be honest, Dave. I can remember it was a Manchester reg YND with an L suffix, having been re registered when it was imported from Sweden but that's it. Can't see it being that car, but it should be easy to check if need be.
The chassis number bearing L prior to the DLO is, as said, confirmation that it stated out life as LHD; be interesting to know a bit more about its history.

Re: Nice PI on eBay
A VOSA check shows an MOT history back to when computerised records began in 2006, and in that time it has covered less than a 1000 miles; over the last several years almost the mileage to the MOT station and back again!
What is perhaps more concerning is that there was frequently a reference to corrosion around the seat belt anchorage mountings on the inner sills during numerous past tests; it then failed the MOT on this issue in September 2015. Obviously more than surface rust, and any repair relative to this needs checking before purchase IMHO. Maybe the reason why the sill trims have been off and replaced upside down. Usual associated issues as a result of standing, plus the compulsory Triumph oil leak
