Can anybody tell the best way to tow a 2000 without damage to the bodywork. A garage towed my car and bent the metal under the at the front under the radiator. I now need to have the car towed away, as the G/B and Prop are going to taken out and it will not be drivable for a while.

Re: Towing points
They should be towed using a strap around the chassis extension that the bumper bolts to.

Re: Towing points
The reason for the photo is the garage man cannot work out what is meant with the haynes of triumph pictures. I, on top of that have a language problem when talking with him I don't speak Turkish.

Re: Towing points
I don't have a photo, perhaps someone else will soon. To describe, pass the loose end of the strap under the bumper to one side of the attachment where it bolts to the chassis leg, then pull it up between the body and bumper. Pass the end back down between the body and the bumper the other side of the chassis rail so it comes out underneath again. the strap will then lie across the top of the chassis rail with the free ends coming forward from below the bumper.

After you sent that mail I went to my garage and had another look. I could not match up the bumper supports with the Haynes picture. Took some photos, came back, a waste of time. Your description matches up with what I thought. I have now looked in the original workshop manual and there is a clear photo i.e the photo Haynes badly copied.. Bingo you are right. Take an MBE at Easter.
