Front Seats
Hi All,
Me again i'm afraid. this time looking at front seat options for the estate.
Again with the RBRR in mind i am looking at swapping the front seats with ones with headrests for safety and possible snoozing. been looking at options, there seem to be a number of options from alfa, rover MGF and 600 and 75
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for distance cursing, not just for this one event
cheers
Ian

Rover 800 Vitesse Recaros also work well. As do Jag XJ6 I think.

Re: Front Seats
And XJ-S, SAAB seats and E36 BMW have also been fitted.
We have Rover 620Ti seats in the estate and a pair of Alfa 156 ones to go in the Pi.

Re: Front Seats
Used Alfa seats on the last RBRR - superb. Co-driver and I needed very different driving positions and changed them in an instant.CAR wrote:And XJ-S, SAAB seats and E36 BMW have also been fitted.

Re: Front Seats
I've got early XJ-S seats as I found a cheap if slightly rustic set after an Ebay search for "red leather car seats". Pretty comfortable, look fairly period and Jaguar Matador Red is pretty close to Triumph Matador Red (guessing they used the same trimmers). You will need to fabricate some brackets as the hole centres are different and to increase the height as they are lot lower.

Have you done a fitting with the Recaro's? Was it just a front set?
Kev
For the OP - Jaguar XJS are a good choice.

Yes, just the fronts. Looked fine with black vinyl rears.

You didn't by any chance keep the template for the necessary new seat fittings It'll save quite a bit of time if you have!

Re: Front Seats
Just browsin' ... as they say, noticed this post, and it's not the first time iv'e come across 'seat options' for these cars.
I am wondering if I am maybe missing something on this topic - as I tell everyone that I end up talking to about the car, that the seats in the 2500S are the most comfortable that I have ever sat in - 'armchair' like. I would not change them for anything??? Strange that we all have such differing opinions!
