But i think you maybe right as if you look close the P.I pump rubber mounts are still there, think its had all S spec stuff put into a P.I shell
Western Thunderer says the about the prefixes in his earlier posting.
Not loads of differences between a facelift pi and an S really. The S was really a carb equipped facelift pi with all the options as standard.

Been busy trying to find more pics and info on any facelift cars and have found a couple more but registered in 75.
Do we think i can maybe claim to have the oldest facelift P.I left or at least roadworthy?

Latest update on facelift Pis are the following,i,am going through all the old six appeals and other sources and i,ve come up with the following.
Mine,roadworthy ice blue.
HFG610N,roadworthy,yellow(or was!)Lee,s.
GBO 395N,roadworthy,yellow
MYG 343,roadworthy,yellow
GHX 273N,not roadworthy ,Andys car,red.
There was a 75 white on for £500 in a few mags ago for sale, but that might of"GONE"
Been told about a red one thats not roadworthy.
OYN 960R the police car that attends alot of shows is a very late one, registered Sept 76,strange this one as its taxed but the MOT ran out 2013?
Anyone have any details on Jaynes car?

I briefly owned a facelift Pi a few years ago. I dragged it out of a field at my caravan storage place! Had been abandoned many years previously! Pimento red facelift Pi - TAC 224N. Registered August 1974 Was well rotten but did get it running with a bit of messing!! Sold it to a gentleman from Essex who was going to restore it. Was 2 owners and 70k as I remember. Never seen car since. Just looked it up on DVLA site. No MOT details held and tax expired 1998. Either very slow restoration or been scrapped.
Triumph 2500 P.I. - BWK 14K. (Back on road at last!))
Triumph 2500 P.I. - UBH 9J. (Still in many pieces!!)
Triumph Stag - FAE 500K (RV8 with hotwire Efi)

Thanks Craig for the info,i wonder if this is the same car someone else has told me about, this is Pimento but with a seized engine and tatty.
I just looked TAC up aswell it was actually last taxed 1988! not 98 and was again a car registered 1/8/74.
I doubt its still about, but you never know.
There was one featured in a Classics magazine this year,it was a facelift in Delph blue and had a nice few page article on it,but i can,t find the mag now....

Sorry meant 1988! Finger trouble! Sure it was Essex somewhere the car went. I know the guy did over 300 miles round trip to fetch it! At the time it went for quite strong money - £500 in approx 2008 I think! The guy was in the medical profession, may have been paramedic, he had to work round his shifts to collect it. Transaction went through on my Ebay account so may be able to check when it was?

I,ve been busy this afternoon going through loads of old club mags and went back 30 years and of course they are a wealth of information,in the older copies there was a few ads for facelift cars and pictures of them, but alot were converted to carbs,or spares or repairs, there was the odd nice example but not many...
A very interesting listing was that in 1991/1992 the mag listed the what version of 2000/2500 the members had and that made very interesting reading as it listed the facelift 2500 PI a t 22 saloons and 1 estate, this was in 1992 23 years ago,at the time it was the rarest version of any 2000/2500 model even rarer than a MK1 P.I which had 39 saloons and 8 estates!
I can,t really see the numbers have gone up in later years.
I,am under the belief that there no facelift PI estates existing, but of course i,am going to be proved wrong now i,ve said that...
As for saloons i,ve been told about a few that are either on SORN or no longer exist, mostly due to the fact they started to vanish at the first site of rain.
So with thanks to a few people who have helped out with a few regs i now have a list of know roadworthy examples and first date of registrations.
I would like to know the chassis numbers, but this could start getting abit close on security so i,am not asking that.
The total number i have is 6 including my car.
I might have another lead or two and i,am waiting for a couple of regs but i think they are both SORN.
Any more leads please let me know,i,am not trying to prove anything as such but dare i say that the facelift PI is the rarest version to exist still of a production model?
