Only a 'cock stride' down the M6 Colin! Wouldn't miss it, but I think I'll be on my own, as Dave works into the early hours on a Sunday so an early start is not at the top of his agenda (Dave will no doubt confirm this!)

A good day yesterday but it is certainly getting very busy since it's now combined with the MG chaps.

Considering the lack of space I think the register presented a good stand which seemed busy most of the time we were there. From talking to Colin, it seems that communication with the overall event organisers is not of the best and 'could do better'. Let's hope for an improvement next year.

All credit to those who helped, led by Colin and Amanda, especially under the difficult circumstances. I hope Amanda's hand is better soon! (And Colin's ankle of course!)

Cheers,
Mike.

Agree too that it was a good show, especially from the Registers point of view with a good number of new members and also renewals, I believe! Good stand again (well done Colin and Amanda and those Club members with cars on display!).
I heard quite a few adverse comments about the altered entry points to the show ground - especially the main entrance which was only allowing entry to Triumphs and MG's and anyone in a 'modern' being turned around. The chaos and queues that this caused didn't go down well, particularly as this wasn't signed until about 100m from the main entrance resulting in a horrendous queue. I would suggest the planning for entry to the event needs a re-think, but just my thoughts....
Still a top event for the diary though, and a great day - good to chat to all again!

I have just read on the Triumph Dolomite FB Page, a release to Clubs, giving apologies, from the Show Organisers, with regards to the traffic issues.

Next year they are to open various gates to try and eliminate the problem.

Far easier to stay over on the Saturday night............ :D

Thanks everyone for the feedback, the traffic problems were only the half of it as far as he organisation was concerned, believe me....
The stand was heaving tbh with lots of people telling us that we were the busiest club stand, it must be my sparkling wit, Amanda's good looks and the tea. Ok Amanda and the tea then lol.

Hopefully the organisers admission that the access to the site for visitors didn't work, is the dawn of a new era for Stoneleigh. A shake-up is needed in all areas with feedback being listened too and acted upon rather than ignored as seems to have happened in the past. Admitting there were problems maybe the first step.

Staying on site is good.

Interestingly, I had an email the day before about the new traffic arrangements. We followed what that said and found no other traffic at all - until we got to the entrance where there was a solid queue from the north. Some kind sole let us into the queue, but we had a fair distance to go across a field (or so it seemed).

If I hadn't read the email we'd have gone to the main entrance as in previous years so I'm glad I didn't ignore it.

It sounds like the lack of communication problems that Colin was experiencing extended much further.

However, all-in-all, a good show and all power to those who organised our stand!

Cheers,
Mike.
