Especially if it's only done 10.5k miles!

Cheers,

Indeed it should. Begs the question as to why a set of Strombergs would wear out over a mere 10.5k miles  I'm not sure this car is as straight as we'd all hope...

I was also under the impression that SU HS4 carbs were only fitted to facelift 2000's, but this one was regd in Feb '74, so one of the last PFL models, perhaps the changeover began then?
My own 2000 had a set of carburettors replaced under warranty at six months old, but that was in 1972, so it got Strombergs again.
Whatever it is, its not been played around with too much. I've said it before, I just don't know where they keep coming from, but long may it continue. :D

My dad had pre facelift M reg 2000 estate on twin HS4 - we had it from 2 years old so I wouldn't be too suspicious.

This car is listed as 1974 - my dads was 07/12/1973 (RRX406M)

I remember as a kid being confused that the handbook described the carbs as Strombergs - I think it was a supplier / licencing thing that expired late 73 early 74.

You could also argue that it has a round top radiator instead of the usual broad square top! I thought the round tops came in after the facelift cars arrived, but as it appears to be in such genuine and original condition, these are very minor points that could easily rectified if any new owner wanted....
Never been a great fan of estates, I must say, but I could always make an exception!

The radiator wants a bloody good clean and repaint too. So with all these things wrong with it......and it's an estate (good point John) I think they ought to take offers close to £300, only if it's got a year's ticket though

I'd love it, but it would be no good to me, it would be up on jacks and riding on different wheels within an hour of getting home.

And it's a slush box :!:
