i should of said on the posting, that i will be drawing the repair panel shape and sizes on every panel that i get and post them on the forums before sending them off to the manufacturer ( as i did with the mk1 ) so you can all see my intentions.

ive owned big trumbies since i was 14 and have seen where they rust and to what degree, so every panel that i get done will be totally suitable for the job, BUT THAT DONT MEAN THAT I KNOW IT ALL, IF ANYONE HAS SUGGESTIONS OR THINK AFTER SEEING MY DRAWINGS OF ANY PANEL THAT IM GETTING DONE, SHOULD BE CHANGED IN ANY WAY, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, AS YOUR INPUT IS MOST WELCOME.

some panels, i may do two variants of, e.g the mk1 front arch. my mk1 has already had the arches done at some point, but need doing again, as so there is less of the wing left to attatch it to, hence why the variants, one with a wider flange of metal and one slightly thinner for cars that havent had thiers done before, so one will also be cheaper than the other :D :D ,

i may also do this with the rear arches and the mk2 fronts.

once again, thanks to everyone for thier help and best wishes in what im doing.

colin, thanks and your name has been put on the list.

hi colin,

im trying my hardest to be there, but with so much on, i just dont know yet ?

ive been in touch with sharon and she"s arranged a day pass for me, just in case i can make it.

i would love to go, and as you say, put a face to the name ( s ).

ive been a member since 1991, but up until now, due to raising the kids and running my own business, i never had time to be activley involved or meet many members, but the kids have flown the nest now :( and im semi retired, so here i am

ive been looking into the panel situation for a long time now and had most things in place, and i felt that someone had to do something about it for us triumph lovers, so i did.

im glad to be of help to us all, but i couldnt of done it without the kind help of other club members from both clubs, so thanks again to all of them :D

hope to see you all at the national, do most people go down for the whole week or mainly the weekend ? as im not sure which day to go on, if i do manage to find the time ?

my best to everyone

lloyd

Hello Lloyd
Put me down for a pair of something please. I might also have a spare pair if I can afford it as I might not get a second chance !

I've already repaired my drivers side front wing after it got hit so I might be interested in either a half wing for that side or a larger repair panel.

Thanks very much for sorting this out.

your on the list guys, and steve, its my pleasure :D

people are asking for the half wings and i will be asking the manufacturer for a costing on these.

from doing the mk1 arches and seeing the work involved in making these panels, i fear the cost will be large, ( but if the demand is there, i will do it ) so dependant on that price and listening to the needs of members, it may be cheaper and a better option to do variants of the arch as i mentioned before, ie, smaller and bigger flares on them, but in saying all that, 1 off"s can always be done, at a premium of course.

there are a few avenues i need to explore and discuss with the manufacturer upon dropping the wings off to them.

i will keep you all informed and many thanks for everyone interest, best wishes, support and pm"s on this matter
