outer front door handles

What is the difference between mk1 and mk2 front outer door handles?
Rears I think are the same.

The main part of the handle is the same, but the lock is different. The lock, I believe, can be swapped over between the two. The Mk2 has lot deeper lock with the key being much longer.
The rears are the same as you say.

The handles I,ve been offered have no locks/keys and are unbagged but NOS,is there a danger that the MK1 lock won,t fit them at all or is it a case that the MK2 lock with the larger key was more sturdy but used the identical handle?

CW lists Mk2 front door handles with the lock and keys, and also bare / without.
There is no reference to Mk1 door handles.
I can only presume then that exterior front door handles, although they look the same, are actually different where the key / lock fits. He normally states in his listings if parts are suitable for both Mk1 and Mk2.
