I’m sure a little manipulation on one of those tool inserts will do the job. £15

Re: Front windscreen
Thanks Jake, look forward to seeing the pics, have a new seal fitted, have the trims ready to go,just need to fit them!
Re: Front windscreen
Hi All,
Ok, this is the actual drawing for making the tool from the Mk2 manual This is also from the manual showing the tool in use. Thus shows the tool I made against the chrome trim This is a close up off the tip I made And from the other side Tip and handle together on the manual The tool I made is actually 1/8" stainless steel TIG welding wire. Its nice and ductile so quite bendable. Stainless steel bar is much less ductile and tends to fracture when sharply bent unless significantly pre-heated ie near red hot. The welding rod can be bent easily when cold
It is an awkward job to fit the trim but if you persevere it is possible, good luck.
Jake.

Re: Front windscreen
So I managed to fit the screen trims and I can safely say I have removed 2000 engines in quicker time....
It was a real pain but I carried on and got there, many hours later.

Re: Front windscreen
It's one of those jobs from my experience like changing the headlining or fitting a complete exhaust without it rubbing the prop, handbrake cable, banging on the crossmember or the trailing arm mounting where it goes through the hole....
Now let's see what I'm doing next, Looks like the full exhaust including the manifold
