I’m sure a little manipulation on one of those tool inserts will do the job. £15

Hi All,

Ok, this is the actual drawing for making the tool from the Mk2 manual

This is also from the manual showing the tool in use.

Thus shows the tool I made against the chrome trim

This is a close up off the tip I made

And from the other side

The tool I made is actually 1/8" stainless steel TIG welding wire. Its nice and ductile so quite bendable. Stainless steel bar is much less ductile and tends to fracture when sharply bent unless significantly pre-heated ie near red hot. The welding rod can be bent easily when cold :-)
It is an awkward job to fit the trim but if you persevere it is possible, good luck.
Jake.

So I managed to fit the screen trims and I can safely say I have removed 2000 engines in quicker time....
It was a real pain but I carried on and got there, many hours later.

It's one of those jobs from my experience like changing the headlining or fitting a complete exhaust without it rubbing the prop, handbrake cable, banging on the crossmember or the trailing arm mounting where it goes through the hole.... 😳

Now let's see what I'm doing next, 🤔 Looks like the full exhaust including the manifold 😩
