Fitting Alfa 156 seats

#1 Post by tomd » Wed Nov 07, 2018 10:16 pm

I have just purchased a pair of alfa 156 front seats to fit into my 2500S. Waiting for delivery. Does any body have a sketch of how I need to fit them? I have the Alfa rails. Do I need to make up anything to fit them to the floor? Thanks

I used the Alfa rails directly onto the Triumph floor pan. You will need to cut off the 90 degree drop section at the front (obvious when you see the rails) and drill the rails at the correct locations to accept a torx type bolt to attach to the floor pan. The rails are too narrow to re-use the original bolt. The rails are slightly narrower than the Triumph ones, but I managed to spread them enough to get the bolts in and they work just fine.

thanks for that. Does the torx bolt fit into the original triumph thread in the floor?

I am not too sure you can get torx bolts with the necessary UNF thread, but UNF hex socket head (allen screw) are readily available and will fit in the seat rail channel.
From memory, I think they are 5/16" unf.

I am still struggling to see how to fit the alfa rails into the triumph threaded fixing points. There seems to be about 1cm difference between the centre of the alfa rail and the centre of the fixing points. I would be for any further suggestions.

Fit the front first with the seat at an angle, then rotate the seat to fit one rear one, then 'spread the runner to fit the final one!
