Interior fabric
I understand that replacement fabric for late mk2s (77) is no longer available. Can anyone advise me on a suitable substitute please?

By 'replacement fabric' what do you mean?
If it is the cloth fabric, apart from shade variations there are substitutes available near enough to the original to not bother with any difference.
If leather cloth, similarly there are substitutes that are very close.
If you mean the diamond pattern perforated leather cloth or true leather found in the fluting then it is not available and no alternative.
Where were you going to use it?

strangely enough i spoke to a company in manchester about this very topic on wednesday.
i was reading through some 1970"s triumph mags i have here and came across aload of adverts from the companies who used to supply the seating materials etc, so i did some digging and made some calls, resulting in the following :
everflex was the name of the material / vinyl used on the exterior of the roof
cirrus was the material used on the door cards and lower bottoms of the seats
stratus was the material used on the seats themselves, im assuming the vinyl type, but not the one with the diamond pattern, thing were alittle cloudy shall we say, as we were talking about stuff from 40 years ago
the lady i spoke to was lovely and helpful and the info she gave me was all from her own memory, not the computor !!!!
she seemed to think that she would certainly be able to help me and wanted samples, this being unrealistic, she told me to email her some pics of the seats to get the ball rolling so to speak.
ive got the non diamond vinyl one in the daily drive, so i can send that one off to her, got the grey cloth in the one under the cover, but its a pig to get to, ( the pick up aint got no seats and the mk1 has leather ) so if someone would email me pics of the cloth seat and someone else the diamond seat, i"ll send them off to her and see what she can do if you want me to ??

I am already attending a meeting with other clubs about spares next month and this was already something I was planning to raise following my experience of wanting diamond perforated leather for my own restoration.
Commissioning a special run of material in a suitable quantity from just one club/make would almost certainly not be cost effective and it will need the co-operation of other clubs like the TR Register and Stag owners, whose cars I believe used this sort of material, to make it viable.
As I said the other seating material in identical or near identical material should already be available unless someone it being wholly pedantic and wanting identical material to the original.

I need to replace the low pile bri-nylon seat fabric on a 77 2500TC. It is not a particularly nice fabric anyway so is there something better that would not look out of place. Did the S have a nicer cord effect fabric?

I'm in the same boat as you - Mk.2 1977 'S' with beige/biscuit brushed nylon trim (bri-cord?). The seats themselves were made in Coventry and the company who made them folded (?) about ten years ago.
If you come across supplies or an alternative, please post.

If you mean for recovering the seats, go to an well established trimmer, show him the seats, and see what he has or can source. It is amazing the sort of thing that some of these longer established trimmers have in stock.
They may also have access to a trade supplier who has stock - not the sort of person that you can necessarily as a private person have access to.
You may not be able to get a perfect match but something close in fabric type - colour would be the problem.
I will put this on my list for a meeting of Standard Triumph club spares reps. that is happening on Sunday and see what transpires.
